Thunderstorm
Purpose
The purpose of the Thunderstorm project is to find out how far away the thunder storm is from the time lightening struck. Enable to do so you must have a light and sound sensor to detect the thunder and lightening.
Program
Every second for ten seconds the light sensor will be collecting data. The same thing will occur with the sound sensor.
Product of Robot
The sensor to the left is the sound sensor. It will hear the thunder occur immediately after the lightening. The lightening is noticed through the light sensor which is appeared to the right in the picture above.
Graphs of Light and Sound
In the light graph, the highest peak is when the lights are turned on in the classroom indicating that lightening has occurred. The lightening happened within 2.5 seconds of the test. For the sound sensor it was detecting the thunder. Thunder was heard 4.5 seconds later.
